"Melodyne 5 isn’t the only game in town when it comes to pitch and time manipulation but it may as well be. MusicRadar verdict: Melodyne 5 is powerful in all its versions, and remains an exceptional tool for manipulating audio in functional and creative ways.
#REVOICE PRO 4 VS MELODYNE 5 UPDATE#
This a strong update to a great piece of software.

#REVOICE PRO 4 VS MELODYNE 5 FULL#
Melodyne 5 Studio offers the full panoply of multitrack polyphonic editing options, but, if you mainly work with monophonic material, the more affordable Melodyne 5 Assistant still delivers many of the essential new features. You will also find the new ‘Percussive Pitched’ algorithm, DAW-oriented keyboard shortcuts and other smaller tweaks. Melodyne isn’t just about vocals, however, and the Chord Track and Grid help with any type of material. Combine this with the new Levelling Macro (for quick balancing between quiet and loud elements) and you have the perfect vocal finessing tool.

The software now also makes a better job of analysing pitch deviations within a note and adds note-based fades. The headline feature in Melodyne 5, is the new ‘Melodic’ algorithm, which now allows you to edit pitched and noise-based components (such as sibilants) separately – including the way in which they are moved when altering the timing of pitched notes. If you can handle its workflow (and price), Revoice Pro is an incredible useful vocal doubling and manipulation tool. However, you need to bear in mind that Waves concentrate on top sound quality and ease of use rather then snazzy features. But have serious concerns as CbB is crashy enough even without additional complicating work environment.AT Pro is Auto-Tune in its most powerful, usable incarnation yet, and it easily maintains its position as one of the two best retuning solutions available the other, of course, being Celemony’s Melodyne.Īt £725, the Waves Vocal Bundle is certainly a costly package. I will be able to let you know how it works.
#REVOICE PRO 4 VS MELODYNE 5 UPGRADE#
I will probable dare one day to perform upgrade (or maybe grab demo keys to test it not to do anything which cannot be undone). Well while that additional background application scares me about DAW-Revoice cooperation (RAM, communication efficiency, stability, workflow) who knows maybe it is not so evil as it seems to be. They are doing promos for upgrades few times per year if I am not wrong. I believe you have made 'right' decision You will have still doors opened for upgrade to Revoice in future if you change your mind.Īnd Vocalign Pro is a big step from Project version in workflow and has less limitations.Īnd maybe with next version Revoice will be more convincing. I am still pondering the Melodyne upgrade though. buy Pro 4! Thanks for your help in deciding Piotr.

The fact that it can work on multiple tracks will also be a boon. It's now working perfectly and seems so much better than the lesser version.
#REVOICE PRO 4 VS MELODYNE 5 TRIAL#
I received the trial iLok activation immediately and it was up and running pretty quickly. I think it must have known that I was considering trading it in for a younger model ? Anyway, after a couple of unsuccessful uninstall/reinstalls I took the opportunity to leave it uninstalled and trial Vocalign Pro 4. Also, all of the demos of the doubler that I found sounded unconvincing (as you also pointed out).Īs it happens (unlucky or lucky coincidence? ) Vocalign Project stopped working for me this morning after years of faithful service. I watched a few videos on it today and didn't like how it operated compared to Vocalign Project. It's really interesting to hear your negative points regarding Revoice Pro. Thanks a lot Piotr for the detailed response! It is much appreciated. Maybe it would be also good idea to take it for tests ?įor me they have their own stronger point and weaker points and in fact when you are very often aditing audio tracks In many things Vocalign Pro is really great step forward from Vocalign Project (this step I can recommend you without any doubts, considering price/ability Not sure if it is still available as free.īut of course Revoice has some strong points which you cannot find in Melodyne like copying params of one vocal to the other track when tuning, alignment of timing (what attracted me the most as I believe Melodyne also is doing great about tuning ) etc. Groove3 with SynchroArts provided free tutorial about Revoice Pro. I would strongly encourage you to check some videos before final decision.
